Alvin Byrne 87, of Tiverton, RI died on Friday. He was the husband of the late Janel M. (Saucier) Byrne. Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Lillian (Fennelly) and Thomas Byrne. He had served in the US Army from 5/4/46 to 10/27/47 with the Parachute FA Battalion in Japan. He had retired from Lightolier after 39 years of service. He is survived by his children Michael Byrne, Patricia Byrne Breaseale and Timothy Byrne. He also leaves his grandchildren Pattie Byrne Stilthen, Jason Byrne, Alicia Byrne Benson, Kelly Breaseale Harris, Timothy Breaseale, Daniel Byrne and Francis Byrne. Greatgrandchildren are Bryse Simmons, Wyatt Simmons, Nolan Harris, Ava Benson, Jeremy Benson, Alice Byrne and Oliver Stilthen. He was the brother of the late William Byrne, Thomas Byrne, James Byrne, Ronald Byrne, Kenneth Byrne, and Lillian Byrne. Visitation TUESDAY from 4-8 PM. His Funeral will be held WEDNESDAY at 9am from the POCASSET MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME 462 Main Rd, Tiverton RI with a 10am Mass at St Theresa's Church where he was a member.
