Anibal T. DeMello "Andy',of Tiverton, RI, husband of the late Hilda Raposa DeMello died on Sept. 27, 2016. He was born 11/7/1919
in Fall River and was the son of the late Jose T. DeMello and Maria Lourenco DeMello. He was a proud graduate of the class of 1937 at Durfee
High School. He also attended various post high school courses that led to a career as a Certified Quality Control Engineer for several businesses including Wright Aeronautical Division of Curtis Wright Corp in New England, Tower Iron in Seekonk and Dighton,and Pyrotector Inc. Hingham, MA.
He was a member of various Quality control Organizations, Tiverton Yacht Club, a Director and President of the Tiverton Taxpayer Assoc., Charter member of the Fr. Boehr Council of the Knights of Columbus, and the Montaup Country Club. He was a Democratic Town and State Committeeman for the town of Tiverton.
He leaves a son Thomas A DeMello and his companion Kathy Maloney of Jamestown, a daughter Janice E Vieira and her husband John of Swansea, 3 grandchildren Karen and Steven (wife Lori) Vieira and KrisAnn Jardin. He also leaves 6 greatgrandchildren Samantha, Bret and Kyle Jardin, Conner, Emily, and Ella Vieira, along with a sister Alice Melanson of Fall River. He was the brother of the late Maria Medeiros of California and late James Mello of Texas as well as many nieces and nephews.
At his request all services were private. The family wished to than Crestwood Nursing Home and Beacon Hospice for their loving care of Andy!
