Anna Nolan, of Tiverton, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at Tockwotton on the Waterfront. She was the beloved wife of the late Owen L. Nolan.
Born in Bristol, Anna was the daughter of the late Antonio Medina and Evarista (Piloto) Medina. She carried her family's strength and cherished Portuguese traditions with her throughout her life, building a home rooted in faith, love, and generosity.
Anna was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a deeply cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was caring for those around her. Whether gathered around her table enjoying her famous homemade meatballs, sharing stories over a glass of wine, or listening to her favorite Elvis Presley songs, time with Anna was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Little Compton and at Charlton Memorial Hospital, dedicating her professional life to caring for others with compassion and dignity. Service was simply who she was. A faithful communicant of Holy Ghost Church, Anna was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and lived it daily through kindness and quiet acts of generosity. She was an active member of the Tiverton VFW Ladies Auxiliary and participated in both the Little Compton and Tiverton Senior Centers. She could often be found knitting hats to sell at the church bazaar or lending a helping hand wherever it was needed.
Anna was known for her independence, her steady strength, and her unwavering love for her family. She leaves her loving son, Alfred A. Medeiros of Tiverton. She was the mother of the late John E. Medeiros and mother-in-law of the late Rosemary H. Medeiros. She was the cherished grandmother of Bethany Couto and her husband Joaquim, Samantha Hutson and her husband Evan, and the proud great-grandmother of four great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. She was the sister of Antonio P. Medina of Bristol and the late Palmira Freitas and Lourdes DaCosta. She also leaves many nieces and nephews who will remember her with affection.
Anna's legacy is one of faith, service, resilience, and love. She taught those around her the value of hard work, devotion to family, and finding joy in simple pleasures.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Holy Ghost Church, 316 Judson Street, Tiverton. Burial will follow in Pocasset Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her honor to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Woodrow L. Silvia Post 5392, Tiverton, RI 02878, will be appreciated.
As Anna always said "Don't do something I wouldn't do — but if you do it, do it twice."
Arrangements have been entrusted to POCASSET MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 462 Main Road, Tiverton, RI.
