Annette
Mcglynn
Apr 24, 1930 — Apr 8, 2022
Tiverton
Tiverton lost a lifelong resident on Friday, April 8th. Annette Hurel McGlynn, 91, lived her entire life in the town she loved. Born in 1930 on
Judson Street, she and her late husband, Edward F. McGlynn Jr., moved to Lepes Road in 1954 and raised four children in a neighborhood filled
with kids who came home every night when the street lights came on. Annette attended elementary school in Tiverton, graduated from the Academy of Sacred Hearts in 1948, and St. Anne's Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She worked as a registered nurse in St. Anne's Hospital's
obstetrical unit for thirty years, and at Clifton Geriatric Center for ten years. Many women in the area remember her as the nurse who put their
newborn into their arms for the first time. In November of 2021, she moved to Brookdale at Sakonnet Bay where she received excellent care
until her passing.
She was the daughter of the late Albert J. Hurel and Yvonne (Levesque) Hurel. She leaves four children: Joanne, John (wife Nancy), Jane (husband John) all of Tiverton, and James (wife Marsha) of Killingworth, CT; six grandchildren: Faith Parisi (husband Greg), Ellen Helger (husband Michael), Dr. Nicholas McGlynn (wife Becca), Emily McGlynn (fiance Jeff), Hannah Hoyle, and Ella McGlynn; and four greatgranddaughters: Lily and Claire Parisi, Emma Helger, and Gracie Winters. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Hurel, and his wife
Jacqueline (St. Laurent), and her brother-in-law Norman McGlynn and his wife Donna (Bennet). She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Her life will be celebrated at a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Cathedral in Fall River, Massachusetts on Wednesday, April 13th, at 10 a.m. A private
burial at Pocasset Cemetery in Tiverton will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to support the work of the Dominican Sisters can
be made to The Marie Poussepin Ministry, 3012 Elm Street, Dighton, MA 02715
