He had served in the U S Army and was a Korean War Veterans.  He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5292.  He played CYO baseball and softball (Mohawks).  He was also a member of the American Legion.  He leaves a son Steven Moniz (Wife Karin) and a daughter Susan Ducharme (Husband Carl).  Grandchildren are Kristen Wells (Jonny), Justin Moniz (Suzanne) Benjamin Moniz, Emma Moniz Cara Ducharme and Jennifer Ducharme.  Great grandchildren are Arianna Ducharme, Julianne Gonzales, Ian Ducharme. Lillian Wells, Malanna Ducharme, Gianne Ducharme, Alex Cote and Thea Cote.  He also leaves a brother John Moniz (Wife Karen) and a sister Louise Roque (late Manuel).  He was predeceased by his siblings and spouses Mary Brazil (Husband Manuel), Adeline Amaral ( Eugene),  Evangelina Freitas (Antone), Charles Moniz (Maria Dolores) and Dennis Moniz (Barbara).  He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Visitation Thursday. April 27th from 6 to 9 PM.  His Funeral will be Friday, April 28th at 9:30 am from the A F Almeida & Son Funeral Home 1309 Globe St., Fall River, MA. with a Mass at 10:30 at St Theresa Church, Stafford Rd., Tiverton, RI.  Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.,O.
