Obituary

Catalina (DaSilva) DeSa 85 of Westport, MA passed away on January 6, 2021.  She was the widow of Agostinho DeSa.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Maria (Monte-Bastos) and Jose DaSilva.  A retired machine operator, she had worked at Lexcraft in the textile industry.  She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life.  She had a love for flowers. In her earlier days, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking an preparing big Sunday lunches for her family.
She is survived by a son Afonso DeSa (wife Eva) of San Antonio, TX, daughter Helena Brewer (husband Allen) of Westport, MA and daughter Cathy Turcotte (husband Ron) of Fall River, MA. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Joshua Brewer (wife Alison), Adam Turcotte and Kyle Turcotte all of Fall River,MA.  She was the sister of the late Jose DaSilva and Manuel DaSilva.
Visitation Sunday from 5 to 7 PM at the A F Almeida & Son Funeral Home 1309 Globe St, Fall River, MA. Masks and social distancing are required with adherence to state mandates while in the funeral home. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 9am at Holy Name Church 709 Hanover St, Fall River.  Everyone is kindly asked to meet directly in church.
