Charles "Chuck" Carvalho, of Little Compton, passed away peacefully with family on August 20, 2023 at Brookdale Sakonnet Bay. Charles was born in Fall River, MA on January 15, 1943. He went on to graduate from BMC Durfee High School in 1960, Bryant University, and Johnson and Wales. He spent his career working for Allendale Insurance and FM Global, located in Johnston, RI, with a three year stint in Toronto, Ontario. Charles, fondly known as Chuck, was a devoted family man and a passionate New England sports fan. He was a loving husband, son, father, and grandfather, and never missed a game his children and grandchildren were in. He treasured his 45 years in Little Compton, RI and traveled in the winter to Ft. Myers, Florida for 17 years to watch his beloved Red Sox during Spring Training. Charles is survived by his son, Jay Carvalho and wife Ashley; daughter, Cheryl Simmons and husband Dean; brother, Carl Carvalho and wife Denise; grandchildren, Cole Simmons, Joshua Simmons, and Rose Carvalho; nephews, Justin and Jason Carvalho; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn; his parents, Charles and Cecelia Carvalho; and his daughter, baby Kim. Visitation will be held at Pocasset Funeral Home (462 Main Road, Tiverton) on Friday 8/25, from 5-7pm, followed by a Memorial Service on Saturday 8/26 at 9am. Family and friends are invited to express their condolences and share their fond memories.
