Charles DeMello Jr. 77 of Tiverton died on Monday. He was a husband, father, grandfather, friend and brother. He was the husband of Constance E. (Amarantes) DeMello for 58 years. Born in Little Compton, he was the son of the late Irene (Amaral) and Charles DeMello Sr. He had worked as a Carpenter in Construction. He loved horses, dogs, farming, gardening, planting, joking, building and his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Richard C. DeMello, Charles DeMello III, William DeMello, Wendy Lee Ferreira and Tami Lee Donahue. He was the father of the late Sandra Lee DeMello. He also leaves his siblings Mary Constantine, Christina Roberts, Eva Ruslow, Caroline Santos, Barbara Riley, Patricia DeMello, Nancy DeMello, Sandra Correia, Sheila LeBreux, Gilbert DeMello and Robert DeMello.
Late siblings are Elsie Rego, Dave DeMello, Roger DeMello and Manuel DeMello. He also leaves 16 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren. Visitation FRIDAY 6-9 PM at the POCASSET MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME 462 Main Rd, Tiverton with a Service to commence at 8:30PM in the Funeral Home.
