Obituary

Charles (Charlie) M. Mello, 90 years young, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 after a brief illness.  A lifelong resident of Tiverton, RI he was the son of the late Frank and late Florence (Sousa) Mello.
Charles was a 1952 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School where he played in the marching band.  He was a United States Navy Korean War Veteran and a trumpet player in the United States Navy Band.  After his honorable discharge in 1960, he played the trumpet for many local Big Bands, including the Swansea Community Band with his long time friend, Billy Moniz.
Charlie was a Production Manager for Sarama Lighting, Fall River MA and Wilshire Lighting, Taunton MA retiring at age 75.  After retiring he worked part time as a photography assistant for his good friend, Steve Barao.
He leaves his companion, Margaret Raposo.  Dear friends, Wayne, Claudia and Evan Marshall, David, Deborah, and Alexandra Valentine, Michael Fairhurst, and Joe Silvia.  Along with many local friends.
Arrangement are with Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, Tiverton RI.  Friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Wednesday May 25th at 10am at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, Tiverton RI.
Internment at Pocasset Cemetery, Tiverton, RI.
In lieu of flowers donations in Charles M Mello's memory may be sent to the Tiverton Fire/Rescue Department.
