David B. Brayton, a longtime resident of the Tiverton and surrounding areas fell asleep in death on August 9th 2026, surrounded by his wife and family members.

Born on August 21st, 1935, he was just shy of 91 years of age. He was the 2nd of 6 children born to Ben and Idene Brayton. Dave, along with Nancy, his devoted wife of 64 years, raised 4 daughters and had 6 grandchildren.

For many decades, David was well known on Narragansett bay as a master quahogger, working all year in adverse weather conditions up until 88 years of age. For this, he became nationally recognized. https://soundingsonline.com/features/iron-man/

Dave loved playing and singing music with his family and relatives.

He was also well known for his tireless ministry, teaching Bible classes, and sharing encouraging Bible teachings from door to door. This was reflected in one of his final prayers that he said in behalf of his family just before his death: "Jehovah God, thank you for the joy of allowing me to share with others what I appreciate about your Bible truths."

One of these Bible teachings is that all things will be made new on earth and the resurrection of those lost in death to perfect health. We will eagerly await the return of our loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother during that time.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm, October 17, 2026 at the Tiverton High School, 100 N Brayton Rd, Tiverton, RI 02878.
