Ernest E. Rapoza, of Tiverton Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on October 24th, 2024. As he always said, he was in his 93rd year. He was born on November 3rd, 1931 in Fall River Massachusetts. He was the son of John and Ida Rapoza. He was pre-deceased by his siblings Edward and John Rapoza, and Pauline Fiore. He was known for his beautiful blue eyes. People would stop him in stores, restaurants and even the hospital to comment on his blue eyes. He was a certified fabricator/welder at AJ Mitchell and Tower Iron. He cherished his wife, Christine and their dog, Daisy Mae. He had an amazing ability to fix anything that was broken. He was known for his quick wit as well.
He is survived by his loving wife Christine (Petrasso) Rapoza, his children, Kathleen Goulet of Somerset, Mary- Elizabeth Perry of Fall River, Susan Brilhante of Portsmouth RI, Timothy Rapoza of North Dighton, and Patricia Dubois of Fall River. He was pre-deceased by his sons, Ernest, Anthony and James Rapoza. He had 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
His favorite pastimes were planting flowers, working in the garden and saltwater fishing.
A wake will be held on Monday, Oct. 28th from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home 462 Main Rd., Tiverton, RI. A
Funeral mass will be held at Saint Theresa's Church in Tiverton, Rhode Island at 10am on Tuesday, Oct. 29th.  Those attending may gather at the Funeral Home for 9am or meet directly at the church.  Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. www.almeida-pocasset.com for on line guest book.
