Frank S. Tavares 97, formerly of Tiverton, RI died on Thursday. He was the husband of the late Rose (Souza) Tavares. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Mary (Ferreira) and Joseph S. Tavares. Prior to his retirement, he had worked in Maintenance at First Federal Savings and had done Carpentry work prior to that. He was a member of Holy Ghost Parish. He had served in The US Army Air Force as a Corporal. He is survived by Theresa Murray to whom he was like a second father to, along with nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lucy Furtado, Mary Carreiro and Hilda Silva.
Visitation TUESDAY prior to Funeral from 8:30 to 9:30am at the POCASSET MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME 462 Main Rd, Tiverton, RI with a 10am Mass at Holy Ghost Church.
