Hilda (Gonsalves) Furtado 104 of Fall River, MA, passed away on July 10th.  She was the widow of  Lionel Furtado.  Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Maria (Sacramento) and John Gonsalves.  She was the stepdaughter of the late Francelina Gonsalves.  She had worked as sewing machine operator for the former Kim and Jim prior to her retirement.  She was a member of Good Shepherd Parish.  She is survived by a son Alfred Furtado (Betsy Walker) of Virginia, and 2 daughters Geraldine Moniz (Frank Moniz) of Swansea, MA and Elizabeth Calenzo (Anthony Calenzo) of Fall River.  She also leaves several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.  Late siblings are John Gonsalves, Mary Kring, Mary Correia and Mario Gonsalves.  She was the stepsister of the late Edward Gonsalves.  She had been a member of the Happy Group Seniors, Holy Rosary Sodality and the Portuguese American Women's Auxillary.

Visitation Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.  Her Funeral will be held on  Friday at 9am from the A F Almeida & Son Funeral Home 1309 Globe St., Fall River, MA with a Mass  at Shepherd Church at 10am.  Burial at Pocasset Hill Cemetery. www.almeida-pocasset.com for on line guest book.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Chilldren's Research Hospital in her memory.
