Hilda Theresa (Silva) Furtado 86 of 273 Oak Grove Ave., Fall River and formerly of Montaup St, died on Friday. She was the wife of the late Edward Furtado. Born in Adamsville, RI, she was the daughter of the
late Maria (Medeiros) and Joseph Silva. She had worked as a Sewing Machine Operator in the Garment Industry. She had also worked for 5 years at St Anne's Hospital as a Foster Grandparent. She had volunteered in the soup kitchen at the former St Patrick's Church and had helped out in the kitchen at the former Our Lady of the Angels Church. She was devoted to her family and is survived by her children Donna Thomas (husband Daniel) of Swansea, Richard Furtado of Fall River, Christine Ramos (husband Robert) of Fall River and Pamela Taylor of Providence, RI. She was the mother of the late Edward Furtado Jr. She also leaves her siblings Richard Silva, Joan Berard, Shirley Perry, Nancy Langis, Catherine Magnuski, 7 grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren. She was the sister of the late Alice Weathers, Raymond Silva, Irene Tavares, Dorothy Kline, Edward Silva, George Silva, Edmond Silva, Joseph Silva, Charles Silva, Alfred Silva and Evelyn Flanagan. Visitation TUESDAY 5-8 PM Her Funeral will be held WEDNESDAY at 8am from the A F ALMEIDA & SON FUNERAL HOME 1309 Globe St, Fall River with a 9am Mass at Good Shepherd Church where she was a member.
