John Mendonca 71 of Tiverton, RI passed away on January 23rd. He was the husband of Laurie Jean (Sutter) Mendonca. Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Catherine (O'Brien) and Al Mendonca. Prior to his retirement, he was a Patrolman for the Tiverton Police Department. He had served in the US Marine Corps. and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the VFW Post 5392. In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter Christy Amaral, a son Ernie Mendonca, a stepdaughter Heather Fowler and a stepson David Bickford. He also leaves his former wife Sandra Mendonca. He was predeceased by a sister Denise and his late uncle Ernest Santos.
