Joseph O. Abreu 83 of Fall River, passed away on August 20, 2012. He was the husband of Elvira (Rezendes) Abreu. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Maria (Oliveira) Botelho Abreu and Francisco Abreu. He was a BMC Durfee Graduate and has served in the US Army as a Corporal during the Korean Era and had served in the National Guard. He had worked as an Offset Lithographer in Research & Development for the US Army and had received numerous awards for exceptional service from the US Government. A member of Good Shepherd Parish, he was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus.
Mr. Abreu had also worked as a Landscaper, liked to draw, was an avid walker and was known by his cigar and cane.
He is also survived by a son James Abreu (Wife Susan) and a daughter Judy Motta (husband David),
grandchildren Ian Abreu and Joshua Abreu, Stacey Tabicas (husband Joe) and David Motta. He also leaves a greatgrandaughter Breanne Abreu and was expecting a new greatgrandaughter. He is also survived by
several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass will be held THURSDAY at Good Shepherd Church at 9am. Burial at St Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River. Arrangements are with the A F ALMEIDA & SON FUNERAL HOME 1309 Globe St, Fall River. Calling hours are omitted. www.almeida-pocasset.com
