Joseph J. Correia 95, of Tiverton, died on Feb. 24th. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Opie) Correia. Born in Tiverton, he was the son of the late Angelina (Freitas) and Joseph Correia. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a construction worked for the International laborer's union of N. America Local 271. He had served in the US Army and was a WWII Veteran, stationed oversees in Europe.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5392. He was an avid gardener & a hunting and fishing enthusiast. He is survived by a son Joseph Correia and was the father of the late Richard Correia. Grandchildren are Joseph Correia, Christy Brennan, Richard Correia and Jonathan Correia. Great grandchildren are Zachary and Kathryn Brennan. He also leaves a sister Mary Fontes and a brother George Correia. Visitation 9 to 10am Tuesday prior to a Service at 10am in the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home 462 Main Rd, Tiverton, RI.
