Joseph Mello Jr. 80, of Tiverton, RI, passed away on April 28, 2022.  He was the husband of the late Barbara (Perry) Mello.  Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Viola (Bento) and Joseph Mello Sr.  He had served in the US Air Force.  A self-employed farmer, he ran Oakdale Greenhouses and Sakonnet Garden Center. In his youth he worked on Mello's Farm.  He is survived by his companion and caretaker Cynthia Manchester Rego, along with 5 children Debra Hawman (Gary) of New York, Carol Botelho (Alan) of Maine, Lisa Miranda (Paul) of Rhode Island, Joseph Brian Mello (Tammy) of Tennessee, and Daniel Mello (Jennifer) of New Hampshire.  He also leaves 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  He leaves several brothers and a sister and was predeceased by a brother Richard Mello and a sister Dorothy Mello.  He was very much loved by the Manchester family also.
