Joseph M. Pacheco, 88, of Westport, died peacefully on January 24, 2026 at Catholic Memorial Home.  He was the husband of the late Irene (Oliveira) Pacheco.  Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose Pacheco and Elvira (Marques) Pacheco.

Mr. Pacheco was employed as a maintenance worker with the Massachusetts Highway Department until his retirement.  He was a Communicant of St. George Church in Westport.

He leaves his loving siblings: Isaura Moniz of Somerset, Virgil Pacheco of Somerset, Americo Pacheco of Fall River, David Pacheco of Fall River, and Carlos Pacheco of Assonet.  He was the brother of the late Manuel Pacheco and Mary Raposo.  He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM in the A.F. ALMEIDA & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1309 Globe Street, Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. George Church, 12 Highland Avenue, Westport, MA.  Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Notre Dame Cemetery.
