Lorraine
Oliver
Apr 16, 1932 — Feb 18, 2026
Lorraine Oliver, 93, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, at Clifton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Larian M. Oliver, Jr.
Born in Fall River, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Francisco and Angelina (Mello) Furtado. For many years, she worked as a sewing machine operator in the local textile industry, a career she held until her retirement. A woman of deep and enduring faith, she was a dedicated Communicant of Holy Trinity Church and a member of the Maplewood Senior Center.
In her retirement, Lorraine embraced life's quieter pleasures, becoming an avid reader and a master of puzzles and bingo. Above all else, her heart belonged to her family. Nothing brought her more fulfillment than the simple, sacred act of cooking a meal and sharing her time with those she loved most—a legacy most fondly remembered through her legendary Portuguese stuffing, which was a staple of family gatherings and a true labor of love.
She is survived by her devoted sons, Kevin M. Oliver and his wife Bernadette of Westport, and Darryl D. Oliver and his wife Julianne of Fall River. She was the cherished grandmother of Keith Oliver, Kenneth Oliver, Stacey Oliver Da Silva, and Randy Oliver, and the proud great-grandmother of ten. She also leaves behind her sister, Judith Aguiar of Fall River, and was predeceased by her sisters, Dolores Simbro and Patricia Cabral.
