Lorraine (Lorena) M. (Amarantes) Silvia, 77, formerly of Tiverton, RI and wife of the late Francis L. Silvia Sr., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family
and caregivers on Oct 4, 2015.
Lorraine was an active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society for many years serving as Secretary of the Fall River District. She also volunteered and worked at the St. Vincent dePaul Store.
Born in Fall River on May 26, 1938 to John Amarantes and Gloria (Camara) (Amarantes) Labaree. She is survived by a daughter Jacqueline L. (Silvia) Nadeau of Andover, NH, grandsons Jonathan Francis Nadeau of MA and PVT Joshua Albert Nadeau of NH, currently deployed overseas with the NH Army National Guard.
She is predeceased by her son Francis L. Silvia Jr.
She had many special caregivers, Leonard Nicolan and his family, son in law Richard Nadeau, along with her sisters Constance DeMello, Margaret Barboza and brothers Manuel, Albert, John and Gilbert. She was the sister of the late Robert and James Amarantes.
A Mass of Celebration of her life will be held on MONDAY, Oct 12, 2015 at St. Bernard's Church in Assonet. MA (exit 9) at 10:00 am. Private Burial.
