Louis A. Almeida, Jr., 66, died peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the RI Veterans Home. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Louis A. Almeida, Sr. and Louise (Rego) Almeida.
Mr. Almeida worked as an Electrician with Multi-State Electric and proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Taussig during the Vietnam War. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He leaves his two loving children: Louis A. Almeida, III and his wife Danielle Drabble Almeida of Westport and Bethany L. Dobson and her husband Robert of Belton, TX. Cherished grandfather of Logan Dobson, Cole Almeida, and Dylan Dobson.
His Funeral will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 8:45 am from the POCASSET MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 74 Simmons Road, Little Compton. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
