Manuel M. Afonso 95 of 396 Tower St, Fall River, passed away peacefully at Southpointe Nursing Home.
He was the husband of Maria daGloria (Carreiro) Afonso. Born in Arrifes, Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Maria daConceicao (Moniz) and Manuel Ferreira Afonso. A Laborer, he had worked at the Nurseries until his retirement. He was a member of Santo Christo Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Joao Afonso of Fall River and 2 grandchildren Delia Lima and Andre Afonso. He also leaves 5 greatgrandchildren and a greatgreatgrandchild. He also leaves his siblings Natalia Raposo and Evelina Freitas, both of Toronto and a brother Jacinto Afonso of Florida. He was the father of the late Alda Gaudencio & Manuel C. Afonso and the brother of the late Maria daConceico Morgado. Visitation FRIDAY 5-8 PM. His Funeral will be held SATURDAY with a Service at 9am at the A F ALMEIDA & SON FUNERAL HOME 1309 Globe St, Fall River.
