Maria C. (Gomes) Fernandes 60, of Somerset, MA, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 5th. She was the wife of Antonio Fernandes. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Maria Conceicao (Martins) Gomes and Jose Gomes. She had worked as a Case coordinator for the District Court in Fall River. Maria was a communicant of St. John of God Parish. In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter Stephanie DeSousa (husband Marco DeSousa)
and a granddaughter Arianna DeSousa, all of Somerset. She also leaves a sister M. Euailia Raposo of Westport and 2 brothers Leo Gomes of Fall River & Joseph Gomes of Westport. She also leaves nieces and nephews.
Visitation Friday from 4 to 8 PM. Her Funeral will be held Saturday at 8am from the A F Almeida & Son Funeral Home 1309 Globe St., Fall River, MA with a 9am Mass at St John of God Church in Somerset.
