Martha C.
Richard
Jan 20, 1937 — Jul 2, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for her life that we announce the peaceful passing of Martha (Cecile) Lepage Richard on July 2, 2026, at the age of 89. Martha was embraced by her loving family and cared for tenderly at Clifton Nursing Home in her final days.
Born on January 20, 1937, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Martha was the cherished daughter of Edgar and Irene (Roy) Lepage. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip Richard, with whom she shared 39 wonderful years of marriage that began on November 24, 1956. Together, they raised three daughters, creating a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. Her daughter Susan Howard, brother Edgar Lepage, and sister Edna Chandanais also preceded her in death.
Martha's legacy of love and resilience lives on through her surviving daughters, Debra Thurston, Donna Rodrigues and husband Thomas and loving son-in-law, Jeffrey Howard.
Her spirit continues to inspire her cherished grandchildren, Robert, Rae Lee, Amy, Jason, Emily, and Samantha, and her great-grandchildren, Riley, Eleanor, Ethan, Michael, Logan, Madison, Jack, and Rosie.
A woman of incredible strength and grace, Martha faced life's hardships with courage and determination. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who would go to great lengths to support her family. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering love were the bedrock of her family's foundation.
Martha's career path began as a waitress at Dunkin' Donuts and Valle's Steakhouse, where she delighted in serving others. Later, she found her calling at Reliable Sportswear, where she rose to the position of floor lady before retiring. Her dedication and work ethic were admired by all who knew her.
In her leisure time, Martha enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader, often losing herself in the pages of a good book. Her adventurous spirit took her on occasional trips to the casino and sunny escapades to Florida, creating memories that her family will cherish forever.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing team at Charlton Memorial Hospital, for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Martha. Deep appreciation also goes to the nursing and CNA staff at Clifton Rehab and Nursing Home Facility for their unwavering commitment and care.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Martha's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit and love for her community.
As we bid farewell to Martha, we hold her memory close, celebrating a life well-lived and the boundless love she shared with us all. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, guiding us with her unyielding strength and compassion. Her final services are private.
