Mary A. Bishop, beloved wife of Henry S. Bishop of Tiverton, RI, passed away at the Grace Barker Nursing Center on February 18th, 2014 at the age of 86. Born in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Aguiar and the late Rose (Pimental) Aguiar. She was predeceased by her sister, Theresa Aguiar Slusarski. She was a second mother to her Goddaughter and niece, Kimberly Rose Bergendahl (wife of John Bergendahl) and like a grandmother to Thomas Bergendahl and Meredith Bergendahl of Pomfret Center, Connecticut. Though she never had children of her own, she considered her Godchildren (Sandra Ouellette of Warren, RI, Madeline Benard of Swansea, MA, Melissa Mullaney of Chester, NH, and Dr. Mark B. Richard of Hampstead, NH) and her nieces and nephews (Randall Richard of Somerset, MA, Lisa Barnes of Dunstable, MA, Christopher Pereira of Harvard, MA, and Susan Pereira of Canton, MA) as her own. Mary also adored her great-nieces and great-nephews and always looked forward to their visits during the holidays, particularly visits from Darcie, Maddy Rose, Conor, Quinn, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Matthew, Jacob, Hannah, Nick, and Heather.

A graduate of the Allen's Business School, she was an administrative assistant at Louis-Hand and later a payroll specialist at Charlton Memorial Hospital before her retirement. During her retirement years, she worked in the Bake Shop at the Stop and Shop in Fall River. What most will remember her for was her dedication to her husband and love of music. She followed Henry when he performed with and directed the North Tiverton Band from 1964 until the early 1990s. Visitation FRIDAY from 6 to 9 PM.
