Mary L (Mae) Simonetti, age 82, passed away in Tiverton, Rhode Island on August 4, 2026. Wife of the late James E. Simonetti, mother of the late James J. Simonetti. Mae was the mother of Joseph of London (UK) and Mary Beth of Tiverton and nana to Nicholas J. Simonetti of Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Mae was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on September 6, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Joseph (Mac) Bettencourt and Cecelia Lyden Bettencourt. Mae was predeceased by her sisters Dolores Silvia, Evelyn Rezendes and Cecelia Arruda and brother Joseph Bettencourt. Mae graduated from Durfee High School in 1961 and worked for many years for the U.S. Census bureau retiring in 1999. Mae is also survived by her sister-in-law Pauline Simonetti of New Hampshire, brother-in-law Joseph Rezendes of Plymouth, Massachusetts, daughter-in-law Suzanne Simonetti of Dartmouth and her beloved best friend Lorraine Chaves of Fall River as well as nieces and nephews.
