Georgina Motta 96 of Fall River, passed away on January 11, 2012 at Morton Hospital, Taunton, MA.
She had resided for the past 5 years at Longmeadow of Taunton. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter
of the late Antone and Mary Rego. She was a communicant of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church. She was an avid seamstress and cook. She enjoyed her family and the Red Sox. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel L. Motta. She was cherished by her daughters, the late Catherine Aguiar and the late Brenda Mendoza. She is survived by her loving son Manuel T. Motta (wife Joan) of Somerset, MA.
Her family includes 8 grandchildren, Kimberly Furtado of Fall River, Daniel Aguiar (wife Susan) of Dartmouth, MA, Kevin Aguiar of Fall River, State Representative District 7, Jeffrey Mendoza (wife Ellen) of Virginia, Christine Sousa (husband Kevin) of Swansea, Scott Mendoza (wife Zena) of Conneticut, Karen Ryan (husband Jeffrey) of Westbridgewater, MA and David Motta (wife Helen) of Swansea, MA. She also leaves 18 greatgrandchildren and 2 greatgreatgrandchildren. She is survived by her sisters Agnes Curt of Fall River and Beatrice Costa of Maryland. She was the sister of the late Manuel Rego, Antone Rego, Alfred Rego, Mary Tavares, Sadie Tavares and Adelaide Arruda. Visitation FRIDAY, Jan. 13th. from 4-8 PM.
