Olivia passed into eternal glory surrounded by her loving family at
home. She was the childhood sweetheart and devoted wife of 64 years of
John Moniz of Tiverton, RI. Olivia was preceded in death by her parents
Joseph and Georgianna Arruda. She leaves her cherished memories to her
children, spouses and companions. John (Rose) Moniz Jr. of Fall River,
Patricia (Michael) Neves of Cape Coral, FL., Laura (Steve) Paquette, of
Westport, MA, Joseph (Karen Manchester), Michael, Wayne (Sue) Moniz,
and Elaine Bernier (Steve Oliveira) all of Tiverton. She also leaves 9
grandchildren 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, great
nieces and nephews who helped make her final days filled with love.
Olivia is survived by her sister Jean and husband Antone Moniz of
Tiverton. Lighting Olivia's way to heaven are her deceased sisters Rose
and Mary along with brothers Manny, John, Joseph, and Antone all of
Tiverton.
Olivia along with her sisters and brother operated Arruda's Dairy for
many years. Olivia's days began in the early morning hours and ended
just hours before sunset, but a lifestyle she loved. Later she and John
founded their own farm, which became the largest hog farm in Rhode
Island. They lived their life inseparable, traveling weekly
transporting their livestock to Pennsylvania, tending their gardens to
share with family and friends. Olivia's home was always the gathering
place for the holidays, since she was an excellent cook. Later she
hosted with her sister Rose and Teddy all the family summer outings.
Olivia somehow, with this busy life still found time to enjoy ceramics,
crocheting, quilt making and canning.
She was a member of St Theresa's Church of Tiverton her entire life
and a founding member of St Theresa's Women's Guild.
She will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her faith,
family and friends.
Visitation SUNDAY 5-8 PM. Her Funeral will be held MONDAY at 11am from the POCASSET
MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME 462 Main Rd, Tiverton, RI with an NOON Mass at St Theresa's Church,
