Tiverton- Raymond Murray, 87 of Tiverton passed away unexpectedly Monday March 14, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Louise J Murray (Stone) to whom he was married to for 60 years. Born in Fall River he was the son of the late Irene (Smith) and Albert E. Murray. He was a veteran of World War II, and worked as a mechanic at Garten Ford. He later retired from Melville Naval Base in 1994. An intelligent, well-rounded and kind, hearted man, he always helped those in need, expecting nothing in return. He also enjoyed working on his farm and had a great love for horses. He was the loving father of his daughter Kelley Sanford and her husband David, and five sons Tom and his wife Tonya, John, Brian, Raymond and his wife Jackie, and the late Stephen A. Murray. His pride and joy was his 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings Shirley Hart, and husband Harold ,Richard Murray and wife Lana, George Murray and wife Sue, Irene Clark and the late Evelyn Walsh, Albert Murray and wife Paula, Edward Murray and wife Dean, and Barbara LaPlante and husband Ronnie. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. The visitation hours will be held Friday from 5-8 PM. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9am at the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home 462 Main Rd, Tiverton, RI with a service to commence at 10am.
