Obituary

Rick David was greeted into the gates of Heaven on July 1, 2020 after a valiant one year fight with cancer.
Rick was the regional sales manager for Slocomb Windows for the past few years. He was successful because he showed true interest in people rather than just offering a typical sales pitch. He was dedicated to his job and picked up his phone any day and at any time. His job was always on his mind. He was very happy to work for people with integrity to match his own. They were supportive of him all through his illness.
In his early years, he was in the Navy, commissioned on the USS Saipan. He worked on the flight deck which was a position that few men had the courage to undertake.
It's hard to pick just a few things to say about Rick as he was extremely multi dimensional. He had a beautiful voice that literally made people cry as he accompanied himself on his beloved 12 string guitar. Many people can sing but Rick had the rare ability to convey true emotion and passion through song, especially when worshiping. He always said that the best way for him to connect with God was through music.
He was obsessed with projects. When he had a vision, he would give 100 percent of himself to getting it done and it was usually for other people, whether it be a construction project, or creating beautiful outdoor sanctuaries. There was no challenge too great for Rick, whether it be fixing a broken television, car or anything else. He would figure out how to do it. He had never ending energy and had a hard time ever stopping just to breathe.
Rick enjoyed researching genealogy. He had a great respect for history. He loved antiques and had a large collection of Antique Bibles and other religious books. He loved the out doors and his dogs, Lilly, Ladybug, Zelda and Willow and dear departed Hannah. They were a source of great comfort to him during the past year. He often asked how he became such a softy as he snuggled with the them. He loved music, especially worship music and oldies from the 50's and 60's. He was a Patriots fan as well.
Everyone that met Rick was struck by his caring, compassionate nature, and his sense of humor. He was surprised by how many people confided in him about their personal struggles, even if they were business associates.
We are all better people for having known Rick and will carry him in our hearts forever.
A celebration of his life will be held at His Providence Church, 262 Swansea, MA on July 18, 2020. Time has yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Camp Clear in care of His Providence Church, 262 Swansea Mall Drive, Swansea, MA 02777. His last project and passion had been renovating a chapel there. Or his wife, Karen to help with unexpected expenses. Venmo@Karen-David-15
