Rita B. Moore, 86, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, March 3, 2016, at home. She loved her family dearly, found strength in her faith and support in the Al-Anon program. She enjoyed reading, building puzzles and knitting. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Moore. She will be sorely missed by her children, Theresa and husband Joseph Matarese of East Providence, Gery and wife Barbara of Riverside, Michael and wife Kathleen of Roseburg, Oregon, Donna and husband Lynn Sturgill of Oceanside, California, and Laura and husband Kenneth Morrill of Fredrick, Maryland, as well as 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, March 19 at St. Barnabas Church in Portsmouth, followed by burial at Newport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a donation to a disabled veterans organization of your choice would be appreciated.
