Obituary

Robert Travis 83 passed away on February 12, 2021.  Born in Fall River, MA to the late Mary (Medeiros) and Manuel Travis,
he was a long time resident of Fall River.  He was also a resident of West Palm Beach, FL.  Robert was the Owner and President of Advance Sewing Machine & Supply Company for 40 years and was in the garment industry for over 50 years.  He enjoyed working with his son and wife for over 30 years.  In addition to his wife Pauline M. (Bolger) Travis, he leaves 3 sons Scott Travis (Christine), Dean Travis and Sean Travis (Holly).  He also leaves 6 grandchildren Jessica, Camryn, Connor, Payton, Kylie and Arianna along with a great grandchild Brayden.
In addition he leaves a sister Eileen Petit and was the brother of the late Richard Travis, Manuel Travis, Jacqueline Travis and George Travis.  He also leaves his brother-in-law Paul Janick.
He enjoyed vacationing and traveling with his family.  He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed watching them grow and succeed.
In his early years he enjoyed the company of his many customers and friends at  business dinners at various restaurants.  He was also a car enthusiast.    In his later years he enjoying eating breakfast and lunch at various restaurants.  His family and friends appreciated his outgoing personality.  His favorite song was (I did it my way) by Frank Sinatra and it fit him to a tee.
Private Arrangements are with the A F Almeida & Son Funeral Home 1309 Globe St., Fall River, MA.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. www.almeida-pocasset.com for on line guest book.
