Rose (Souza) Tavares 96, formerly of North Tiverton, died on Tuesday. She was the wife of Frank S. Tavares. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Mary F. (Branco) Souza. Prior to her retirement she had worked as a sewing machine operator in the garment industry and was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. Mrs. Tavares was a communicant of Holy Ghost Parish. In addition to her husband, she is survived by Theresa C. Murray of Tiverton to whom she was like a second mother, along with several loving nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her siblings Mary Sylvia and Manuel Souza.
