Theresa "Terry" Ryan 91 of Fall River, died Oct. 15th, 2103 after a long illness. Born in Fall River, she was
the daughter of the late Marie (Medeiros) and Manuel Cabral. She leaves 2 sons Milton and James Ryan,
5 grandchildren James, Kim, Shawn, Tracy and Brett Ryan. She is also survived by her brother-in-law
Robert Ryan and 3 daughters-in-law Barbara (wife of James), Barbara (wife of Milton) and Donna (wife of Gordon) Ryan, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George Milton Ryan and son Gordon Ryan. In addition, she was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Mary Coute,Alice Silvia, Deborah Silvia, George, John, Arthur and Joseph Cabral.
She loved going on trips with the John McAvoy Group and she was a woman who loved to sing, travel and have fun. She and her husband owned and operated the dress factory Terry Dee until its closure. Then they opened the Kim and Jim Dress Factory and operated that for 30 years. Terry had also served on several committees under Mayor Carlton Viveiros. Professionally, Terry served as a director and secretary-treasurer
of the New England Apparel Association, as a director of the Fall River Chamber of Commerce and Industry
and as a director of the Industrial Commission for the City of Fall River. In 1986, she was honored as a "Woman of Achievement" by the Greater Fall River Business and Professional Women's Club.
A Memorial Mass will be held on TUESDAY at 9am at St Mary's Cathedral 327 Second St, Fall River, MA. Arrangements are with the A F ALMEIDA & SON FUNERAL HOME 1309 Globe St, Fall River, MA.
