Virginia (Costa) Wood 97, formerly of Swansea, MA passed away on Oct. 2nd.  She was the wife of the late Henry J. Wood.  Born in Tiverton, RI, she was the daughter of the late Olivia (Reis) and Domingo DeCosta.  A Homemaker, she had also worked in the garment industry  and as a school bus monitor.  Virgina enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, sewing, gardening and crafts. She is survived by 4 children Alan Wood, Barry Wood, Sharon Andrade and Kevin Wood, along with 3 granddaughters Bonnie, Kathryn and Yvonne.  She was predeceased by all her siblings  Manuel DeCosta, Joseph DeCosta, Louis DeCosta, John DeCosta, Lena Costa, Alice Bento and Mary Raposa.  Visitation will be held on Thursday Oct. 7th from 10 to 11am prior to her Funeral service at 11 am at the A F Almeida & Son Funeral Home 1309 Globe St., Fall River, MA.  Burial to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. www.almeida-pocasset.com for on line guest book.
